It looks like inexperienced candidates did well in recent political primaries, and incumbents are uncomfortable.
That's a good thing. I'm not a Tea Partier, I don't think, but I might be able to find a great deal of sympathy with them in one respect; I think we should all agree - all us voters, of all political persuasions - to simply vote out every incumbent in every election cycle, if that means putting a trained monkey in office.
"Hey," one might object, "...do you really want the country run by a bunch of amateurs?".
Yes... yes I do. The professionals, so well practiced in the Art of the Deal, have done far more harm than good. We have grown accustomed to our ruling class behaving like cads... plying us with ham-fisted flattery and cheap wine in the hopes we will "put out", and they have too often been successful (to our shame). Now, though, it begins to look more like a mugging... or date rape.
Much better to go out on a real date, even with that geeky, gawking kid from the AV club, the one with the allergies, the corny jokes the donkey laugh.
The smooth operators have left us a wreck.
Politics seems so corrupt to me these days, that inexperienced people do seem to have a natural advantage in the way of not only getting elected, but also in inventing their own means of getting things done. It may be time to start from scratch to make any real progress. Though I would like for our president to have a bit more experience than being a senator for a couple of months

I can't say I disagree. But the reality is the political machines of the dominant parties are too powerful. Short of revolution, I don't see much chance (oh, a stray newbie/outsider here and there may win, but not enough to make a difference).
The US of A - it was a fun ride while it lasted!
