Clearly, this incident demonstrates how badly we need tighter pipe control laws, and perhaps a federal system of metal pipe regulation and registration, complete with background checks.
If we made it harder to get metal pipes, there would be less violence.
No word yet on whether the attacker was an angry, right-wing anti-ObamaCare terrorist zealot, but there's no solid proof he wasn't!
BTW, this post reminds me of this one I penned over at Jimmy Akin's blog.
Being a Milwaukee resident I can assure the mayor will support a pipe control law. He is just another Wisconsin liberal that tows the standard liberal line. The last thing he would have ever wanted that woman to have was a gun to defend herself.

I don't know much about the mayor's politics, but the story indicates that he (a)stepped in to protect a grandmother who was trying to protect her grandchild, (b)fought the younger assailant off with his bare hands, and (c)the end result of his intervention was that "[t]he woman and baby were uninjured."
I thought this post a fitting follow-up to Tim's previous post on manliness.
My conclusion about manliness is that it involves sacrificing oneself for the good of others. Just like womanliness. This is why we venerate Ss. Mary and Joseph. They are good examples for women and men because they are good examples for Christians generally.

Well stated, S.B..
I I confess don't know anything about the incident except that the attacker used a metal pipe, which put me in mind of well-meaning but misguided gun laws.
There are good gun laws, but there are also misguided ones.
If the mayor saved someone from injury (or worse) he ought to be commended for that.
