Tim is happy to be presenting a 3-day painting workshop at the studios of Susan Edgmon in Gravette, Arkansas. The workshop will center on still life painting with special focus on reflective and metallic surfaces. The workshop will run Thursday through Saturday, June 3, 4, and 5th, from 9 - 4:00 each day.
This is pretty prestigious art event for Arkansas, and I'm proud to
be invited to be a part of it;
I am pleased to inform you that you have been selected to take part in
the 4th Annual Arts
in the AirProfessional Art Exhibit and Sale.
This event is scheduled to be held at the Rockefeller Institute atop
Mountain from May 2 to
May 25, 2009. The show is designed to celebrate the creativity and
originality of Arkansas ’
artists while serving as a fundraiser for Envision
U and other student art education programs at the Rockefeller
Institute. This year it will be held on the same weekend with our annual
heritage event that will feature a discussion of Governor Rockefeller’s
personal contributions to supporting art and art education in
Arkansas during his lifetime.
Winthrop Rockefeller Institute
is a juried exhibit, with entries from all over the state and it is
also associated with my alma mater, so being accepted to this show is very gratifying.
It also takes place at one of the most naturally beautiful locations in
Arkansas, Petit Jean State Park.
I have had a great deal to do in recovering from the recent ice storm, lining up work for the coming months and wrapping up my final week at my day job. I finished one painting (which was interrupted when we lost power for three days) but have been otherwise occupied since then.
As I indicated earlier, though, I will be producing much more regularly starting next week, so keep tuned in to this channel...
I'm happy that the Etsy store is off the ground, but I need to avail myself of all the bells and whistles associated with the service, do some networking and promotion and such. Ebay was comparatively expensive, but I also had sales on Ebay. No sales yet through Etsy. I may continue to use both, as well as trying to find a couple of brick-and-mortar galleries to represent me.
Many thanks to those who have dropped by and to those who have purchased my art. I have a couple of commissions as well as a book illustration gig in the works, so it looks like I will have plenty to keep me from loitering around the pool hall.
