Since I haven't been painting fpr a few days, I thought I would post a couple of old charcoal studies, one about five years old, and the other about 25.
This one is of a tree that was very close to the art gallery I owned and operated about five years ago. It reminds me of some of the wonderful studies I have seen here.
The second is a figure study from a life class I took as a grad student. The instructor had created a sort of layered space, but I naturally spent most of my time modeling the figure. I thought it came out well, for a relatively quick life study, so I kept it. Shame it's on cheap sketch paper. It's also a shame that I stored it in the attic with some other old work and everything got nibbled by mice (as can be seen at the corners).
