A few years ago, I was watching a news broadcast. 2 second-graders in a NJ school cut up pieces of construction paper into the shape of guns and were pointing them at one another, saying "Bang Bang!". The idiots running the school called the local police, who took the kids from the school to the police station. The imbecile Chief of Police of this small department was asked about this and said something like: "We're taught to look for signs, and, if this isn't a sign, I don't know what is." Now, I've been a police officer for over 20 years. I said something like: "If you aren't a flaming excratory orifice*, I don't know who is." I got the impression that the moron was a political appointee who either was never a police officer or, if he was, spent very little time on the street. I sure wouldn't want someone with so little sense as my backup.

*(The actual words I spoke required me to put some money in my Cuss Jar).
